Carol Vorderman

 Carol Jean Vorderman, MBE HonFIET (born 24 December 1960) is a British media personality, best recognized for her appearance on the game show Countdown for 26 years between 1982 to 2008, and as columnist for newspapers and the author of educational and diet books. She also hosts the annual Pride of Britain awards.



 



 Vorderman started her career in 1982 with Channel 4's Countdown. From 1982 until Richard Whiteley's death in the year 2005 Vorderman appeared on the show along with Des Lynam, Des O'Connor and then she left in the year 2008. Vorderman began presenting other shows for various broadcasters, such as Better Homes and The Pride of Britain Awards for ITV. She also hosted guest shows , such as Lorraine, The Sunday Night Project and Have I Got News for You. Vorderman is the author of several books about detox diets.



 



 Vorderman was from 2011 to 2014, a presenter on ITV's Loose Women.
